2023 Badge of Accredited Healthy Workplace
The National Health Agency (NHA) has been actively promoting the Healthy Workplace Program, aimed at establishing a healthy lifestyle for the public and promoting the physical and mental well-being of workers. To achieve this goal, the NHA established three regional Healthy Workplace Promotion Centers in the North, Central, and South of Taiwan, providing guidance to workplaces for tobacco harm prevention. Since 2006, the NHA has integrated health promotion into workplace activities and launched the "Healthy Workplace Certification" program in 2007.
Based on the "Comprehensive Workplace Health Promotion Model" proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2010, this model emphasizes four key areas: physical work environment, social-psychological work environment, personal health resources, and corporate community involvement. Additionally, the core values of the program include commitment from company leadership and joint participation by employees. The certification program follows eight steps: initiation, integration, needs assessment, prioritization, planning, implementation, evaluation, and improvement, with continuous improvements managed through self-regulation.
The Healthy Workplace Certification is based on this model, helping businesses implement health promotion initiatives, offering comprehensive health resources, and evaluating and improving work environments. It also extends to include the involvement of employees and their families, as well as the community, furthering corporate social responsibility and fostering a healthy, supportive work environment.
